Product Design and Merchandise Development
Yoga Box is a nationally recognized, multi-location yoga brand known for its high-energy classes and strong community presence. I was brought on to concept, design, and launch a complete branded merchandise line that could scale across product categories while remaining cohesive and aligned with the brand.
The scope of the project included the development of a merchandise system (spanning 6 core product categories), along with the independent buildout and organization of the Shopify e-commerce store. I worked directly with co-founder to develop concepts, review options, and prepare collections for launch.
The goal was to create a merchandise system that felt intentional, rather than over-designed. The collection needed to support Yoga Box's bold identity while remaining accessible for a wide customer base and easy to expand over time.
Key objectives included:
Designing a cohesive visual system that could scale across 20+ individual SKUs
Creating apparel that felt wearable both inside and outside the studio
Supporting fast iteration through print-on-demand workflows
Launching a clear and organized online store that reflected brand hierarchy
The Goal
I led the creative process from early concept development through execution and launch.
My responsibilities included:
Concept development and visual direction across the full merchandise line
Apparel and accessory design for hoodies, crop tops, long sleeves, beanies, and tees
Exploration of 40+ design variations across logo placement, scale, and color ways
Creation of multiple concept decks per category to support decision-making
Full Shopify store build, including product organization, visual hierarchy, and merchandising structure
My Role
The design approach focused on clarity, restraint, and repeatability. Rather than introducing new graphics for each item, the system centered on thoughtful logo placement, consistent scale, and controlled color palettes to create cohesion across the collection.
Each product category was explored through 2 to 4 structured design rounds, allowing the team to quickly narrow options while maintaining consistency across products. These decks presented silhouette options, placement variations, and color selections.
The strength of the collection came from how individual pieces worked together as a system, rather than how any single item stood alone.
The Design Approach
Once designs were approved, I adapted them across print-on-demand workflows while maintaining consistency in placement, scale, and presentation.
I independently built and organized the Shopify store, including:
Product categorization across 6 collections
Consistent visual presentation across 20+ listings
Clear merchandising structure to support discovery and future expansion
Execution and Launch
The merchandise line successfully launched and expanded using the established design system. The structure reduced the need for custom design work on new products and allowed the brand to add items efficiently, without diluting visual identity.
This project demonstrated the value of a concept-first approach, clear collaboration, and scalable design systems within a fast-moving consumer brand. This project reflects how I work at my best. I thrive in early-stage ideation, system building, and collaborative refinement. It shows my ability to manage concept development at scale, work closely with founders, and translate brand identity into wearable products that support both creative vision and execution.
