Graphic Apparel and Visual Direction
Awakened Apparel was a concept-driven graphic apparel project centered on themes of spirituality, mental health, and self-reflection. The goal was to create a line of wearable graphics that felt intentional, emotionally resonant, and visually cohesive.
I led the creative direction from concept through launch, developing original messaging, visual compositions, and brand presentation for an online apparel store distributed through major platforms.
The goal was to create a clear and recognizable visual language that could support meaningful messaging while remaining wearable and accessible.
Key objectives included:
Developing original graphic concepts rooted in spirituality and mental health
Creating a cohesive collection rather than isolated designs
Balancing expressive visuals with everyday wearability
Establishing a brand identity that felt thoughtful, modern, and grounded
The Goal
I owned the creative process from early ideation through launch and promotion.
My responsibilities included:
Concept development and visual direction for the full apparel line
Creation of original phrases, themes, and graphic compositions
Exploration of typography, imagery, and layout across 30+ variations
Selection and refinement of final designs for production
Creative direction and coordination of a branded photoshoot
Collaboration with a PR professional to support press outreach and features
My Role
The design approach focused on translating abstract emotional themes into clear, wearable graphics. Each design began with a core idea or message, which guided visual composition, tone, and restraint.
Rather than treating each shirt as a standalone piece, I designed the collection as a system. Typography, spacing, and imagery were considered across the full line to ensure visual consistency and cohesion.
Designs were refined through multiple rounds of iteration, narrowing concepts to those that best balanced message clarity, aesthetic alignment, and wearability.
The Design Approach
Execution and Launch
Final designs were adapted for print-on-demand production and prepared for online distribution. I built and managed the online storefront, ensuring consistent presentation across product listings.
Execution included:
Finalizing 12+ production-ready designs
Coordinating photoshoot assets for marketing and product pages
Organizing the online store for clarity and ease of navigation
Supporting promotional efforts tied to press features
Awakened Apparel launched as a cohesive graphic apparel collection with a clear point of view. The brand received press coverage and demonstrated how concept-led design can support both emotional resonance and commercial presentation.
The project reinforced the value of clarity, restraint, and system thinking in graphic apparel design. This project highlights my ability to lead creative direction independently, translate abstract ideas into visual systems, and manage a concept from ideation through launch. It demonstrates how I approach storytelling, cohesion, and visual consistency within design.
